Announcement of Applications for Prof. T. S. Swamynathan Young Achiever Award of Indian Radiology & Imaging Association (TN & Py Chapter)

Members of Indian Radiology & Imaging (IRIA) are invited to apply for PROF. T. S. SWAMINATHAN YOUNG ACHIEVER AWARD instituted by IRIA. Members may apply by sending in 4 copies of their bio-data duly proposed and seconded by member of IRIA.

As per constitution of IRIA, a committee consisting of immediate Past President of IRIA, President, President Elect and Secretary General, IRIA shall be the ex-officio members and the applications received for the PROF. T. S. SWAMINATHAN YOUNG ACHIEVER AWARD should be sent to this committee by Secretary IRIA for the final verdict. The eligibility criteria of applicants shall be verified by Secretary iria. The Credential committee shall meet and send its recommendations to Secretary iria who shall inform the report of the committee in the subsequent executive council meeting of IRIA.

Members are requested to read the guidelines printed in this Bulletin/web site for eligibility for PROF. T. S. SWAMINATHAN YOUNG ACHIEVER AWARD. Members should prepare and send a preliminary format of their points earned against the heading exactly as per the guidelines along with supportive documents/certificates, which should be attached with the bio-data. Applications not supported by authentic certificates for claiming points will not be awarded those marks. The decision of the credential committee will be final and binding.

to reach on or before NOVEMBER 15, 2014. If selected by the credential committee, Dr. K. Rajan, Secretary, IRIA, will intimate the applicants by mail. If selected, the medal will be awarded during the Inaugural Function of IRIAI on the first day of the Annual conference of IRIA. The candidate will have to bear the expenses for travel & stay.

Applications for Prof. T. S. Swaminathan Young Achiever Award of Indian Radiology & Imaging Association

Members of the Indian Radiology & Imaging association (tn&py) may apply as per the eligibility guidelines printed in this bulletin and the instructions printed above.


  1. A postgraduate qualification (diploma, degree or equivalent) in Radiology, Radio-diagnosis.
  2. The candidate should be a Member of IRIA.
  3. The candidate should be less than 40 years of age as on January 1, 2015 but age limit can be relaxed to 42 years for the candidates with exceptional merit. Proof of age must be submitted with the application.
  4. The Application should be duly proposed and seconded by members of IRIA.
  5. The Applicant should have attended at least one national conference of IRIA and one CME of ICRI.

Application on plain paper and typewritten with double spacing giving the name, age, address, qualifications, particulars of training, experience, super-specialization, if any, academic distinctions at both undergraduate and post –graduate level, publications, proof of membership of IRIA etc. should be sent so as to reach the secretary, IRIA (tn&py) at the above address within the time limit prescribed above. Selection will be made strictly on merit.

Please note that title and brief abstract of the topic of Oration has to be provided at the time of submitting the application.
